Font size adaption
This module is used for scaling text in terms of font size and various text attributes.
Scaling factor source
With Scaling factor source you can choose whether the frame or the page should be used for the adaption.
The following options are available
max (Width/Height) | If max (Width/Height) is chosen the higher of the two values will be taken as reference. |
min (Width/Height) | If min (Width/Height) is chosen the lower of the two values will be taken as reference. |
Width | If Width is chosen, the width will be taken as reference. |
Height | If Height is chosen, the height will be taken as reference. |
Depending on the option selected, the selection refers to the dimensions of the frame or page.
Scaling intensity
The scaling intensity is used to define the actual impact of the size adjustments in the adaption panel on the chosen frame.
For example:
If the settings in the adaption panel are set to increase the document by 120% and the scaling intensity in this frame is set to 50%, the text size will be increased by 60%.
Minimum Size
Sets the minimum font size that can be used during adaption if activated.
Maximum Size
Sets the maximum font size that can be used during adaption if activated.
Note | If either limit is reached, Wedia Dylation will respect the limits and keep the proportions of the font sizes. That is, all texts in the relevant context will not be scaled further. This protects the proportions of the text. |
Fit text to frame
With the help of this option, the scaling factor is selected without further consideration of the other settings in such a way that it fits exactly into the frame.
Integral numbers
This option rounds the font size to integral numbers.
E.g.: If a text size would be increased to 14.67, the font size would be rounded up to 15.00.
Avoid overflow
This checkbox is used to restrict the text size to a size which fits into the adapted text frame. If you have defined a font sizes limitation the font size will be favoured.
Scale additional text attributes
This option enables scaling of the following additional text attributes:
infeed left and right
first and last line indent
line spacing before and after
strength of the drawing contour
paragraph line above and below: thickness, offset, infeed left and right
underline: strength and offset
strikethrough: thickness and offset
tabulators: tabulator position
Tabs should generally only be used if tab settings have been made in paragraph and/or character styles. Tab positions in a text without corresponding settings are not scaled by Dylation.
Scale table attributes
This option enables scaling of the following table attributes:

The correct scaling of the line widths of table borders and cell contours can only be guaranteed if cell formats are used and the line width settings for cell contours have been made in the cell format. |
table options
distance before and after the table
line width of table borders, column and row contours
cell options
values of the row height: depending on the selected option, either the exact row height or the values for min. and max. row height are scaled
column width
line width of the diagonal lines
line width of the cell contours
distance between cell and text (cell offset): top, bottom, left and right
minimum offset to first baseline
