Introduction
Available from the 2024.5 release, the feature allows users to create, view, edit, publish, validate, and delete assets versions.
...
The lifecycle of a media asset spans multiple stages, from creation and iteration to publication and ongoing management. Our solution integrates two distinct but complementary features to address these needs: Version Management in Creative Workflow and Version Management in the DAM (introduced with the 2024.5 release). Together, they provide a seamless and comprehensive process for managing media assets at every stage of their lifecycle.
Version Management in Creative Workflow
Creative Workflow is where media assets are conceptualized, refined, and prepared for publication. This feature empowers users to:
Upload & Index : Start the process with raw or draft assets.
Iterate and Review: Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and perfect assets.
Validate for Publication: Secure consensus on a final version ready for release into the DAM.
This structured process ensures that only the most accurate and high-quality versions of assets are published, reducing errors and optimizing collaboration. More about version management in Creative Workflow
Version Management in the DAM (for published assets)
Once an asset is published, its lifecycle continues with the DAM’s enhanced version management capabilities. This new feature allows users to:
Create New Versions: Introduce updates or improvements to published assets.
Version History : Maintain a transparent log of all iterations.
Publish : Manage which version is distributed to stakeholders.
Delete Outdated Versions: Keep the repository clean and organized.
These tools ensure that published assets remain relevant, traceable, and adaptable to evolving needs.
