Configuration

This template could be an ad or a poster. It can be scaled both proportionally and non-proportionally.

As you can see the template includes an image, two graphic elements and some text. The graphic elements follows the key visual when the template is adapted.

Image

The image is equipped with an anchor on all four sides. A fixed anchor is placed at the document margins (right, top and left) so that a fixed distance to the document edge of 0mm is always maintained.

A relative anchor is placed at the lower edge of the frame so that the image is scaled proportionally in height.

In addition to the anchors set, Image Scaling has been activated in the Dylation panel. This offers the possibility to set the minimum and maximum image section to be taken into account in the format option. The image section has been selected so that the faces are completely contained in the minimal image section.

Furthermore, the frame in the script label has been given the name Image.

Graphic elements

The graphical elements should also refer to the default positions in the image after the format adaptation. The Image Follower function is used for this purpose in the Dylation panel. Only the frame name of the frame to be followed by the element must be specified. In this case, it is the frame name that was assigned for the image frame. No further adjustment with arrows or anchors is required.

Text elements

For the text elements, the option Font size adaption must be activated in the Dylation panel by clicking once. It is responsible for shrinking/growing the text in a format adaptation.

In order to define the position of the text elements in a format adaptation, the Image Follower function must be activated in the same way as for the graphic elements. The previously defined frame name Image is also used as a reference here. No further adjustment with arrows or anchors is required.

Headline

The frame is marked with a relative anchor at the left, upper and right frame edges, so that the distances are automatically adjusted during a format adaptation relative to the format change. The lower edge of the frame has no anchors, as the Text Fit function is activated. For this function, a frame edge must remain free. The frame edge that remains free is the edge that shifts depending on the contents. The Text Fit function is configured so that the text can shrink and grow to a maximum of two lines.

The Font size adaption function must also be activated for the headline so that the text size for a format adaptation is adapted accordingly.

Copy text

The copy text has a relative distance arrow at the top edge of the frame, which is connected to the bottom edge of the headline. If the headline shrinks or grows, the arrow ensures that the distance between headline and copy text always remains at the specified size.

The other edges of the frame (left, bottom, right) are equipped with a relative anchor so that the distances to the edge of the format are automatically adjusted when a format adaptation is made relative to the format change.

The Font size adaption function must also be activated for the copy text so that the text size is adapted accordingly for a format adaptation.

Adaption

Before adaption, original size (W*H): 210mm * 297mm

After adaption, size (W*H): 180mm * 310mm

After adaption, size (W*H): 240mm * 280mm
