New Feature: Version Management System in the Wedia DAM
The new Version Management System enhances media asset tracking by allowing administrators and contributors to create, manage, and compare multiple versions of media assets. Here’s what’s included:
Key Features:
Version Tab:
A dedicated “Versions” tab is available on the asset detail page (DAM, Boards, or Portals).
Users with permissions (administrators and contributors) can access this tab.
Adding a Version:
A “Create Version” button allows users to upload a new media file or reuse the current one.
Metadata is pre-filled with values from the current version for consistency.
Version List:
Displays all versions with:
Thumbnail preview.
Version name.
Creator’s name and timestamp.
Current and draft versions are clearly labeled.
Actions on Versions:
Hovering over a version reveals options like:
Set as Current Version (not available for the current version).
Preview & Edit (for drafts) or Preview (for previous versions).
Publish or Delete.
Version Comparison:
Compare the current version with another version using the Compare button.
Allows side-by-side viewing with clear labels and actionable options.
Mobile Limitations:
Some features, like comparison, are not available on mobile for optimal user experience.
This system provides better control over asset lifecycle management, enabling teams to easily track, update, and revert media versions when needed.
New Feature: Asset Status Indicators in DAM Portals
This release adds status badges to media assets in the DAM and portals, visible in Square, Line, Column and Block display modes.
Who Sees It:
Users with roles configured to view multiple statuses in at least one library can see badges.
By default, readers won’t see badges, as they only access published media.
Details:
Hovering over a badge shows a tooltip with the status (e.g., “Status: [Published]”) in the color assigned in the DAM workflow :
New Feature: Workflow Status Updates for Assets
We’ve introduced a feature allowing administrators and contributors to update the workflow status of a single asset or multiple selected assets.
Key Details:
How to Access:
The Change Status menu is available in:
The top-right toolbar when viewing an asset’s details (DAM, Boards, Portals) :
The More Actions menu after selecting one or more assets :
Who Can Use It:
Only administrators and contributors with workflow permissions will see the menu.
Workflow Options:
Clicking the menu displays all workflow statuses, with “Published” and “Archived” available by default.
Selecting a status saves the update, displays a confirmation message (“Status successfully updated”), and collapses the menu.
Limitations:
The menu is not available on mobile devices.
If the user lacks permissions to change the status for all selected assets, an icon appears next to the status.
This feature streamlines asset management, making it easier to maintain workflows across DAM, Boards, and Portals.
New Feature: Quick Access to Published Assets in Creative Workspaces
We’ve introduced a “See Published Assets” option in the More Actions menu within Creative Workspaces. This allows users to directly access assets published from the selected workspace in the search results.
How It Works:
Select “See Published Assets” in the dropdown menu :
A new filter appears in the search results to show only assets published from the current workspace :
From there, assets can be easily:
Added to Boards or Portals
Downloaded
Shared directly
This feature streamlines workflows, enabling faster access to published assets for collaboration or distribution.
