Attribute scaling

This module is used to scale object attributes (contour thickness and/or corner radii of frames, lines, etc.) depending on the change of the side or frame dimensions.

Scaling factor source

With Scaling factor source you can choose whether the frame or the page should be used for the adaption.

The following options are available

max (Width/Height)

If max (Width/Height) is chosen the higher of the two values will be taken as reference.

min (Width/Height)

If min (Width/Height) is chosen the lower of the two values will be taken as reference.

Width

If Width is chosen, the width will be taken as reference.

Height

If Height is chosen, the height will be taken as reference.

Depending on the option selected, the selection refers to the dimensions of the frame or page.

Scaling intensity

The scaling intensity is used to define the actual impact of the size adjustments in the adaption panel on the chosen frame.

For example:

If the settings in the adaption panel are set to increase the document by 120% and the scaling intensity in this frame is set to 50%, the text size will be increased by 60%.

Attribute options

The selection of one or more options activates the scaling for the attributes:

  • Stroke weight

  • Corner radii

  • Drop shadow

  • Inset spacing

  • Text wrap

Aside

Stroke weight

is set in the stroke panel

Corner radii

is set in the corner options panel

Drop shadow

is set in the effects panel (Drop Shadow…)

Inset spacing

is set in the text frame options panel

Text wrap

is set in the text wrap panel

Frame scaling

The content rule is used to scale frames depending on the change in page dimensions or the dimensions of reference frames. Depending on the setting, the frame can grow or shrink in height and/or width.

In this way, for example, the width of a frame can be linked to the change in page height. This would not be possible with anchors or arrows.

The adjustments of the frame width and height can be activated and configured individually. If Adapt frame width (Adapt frame height) is activated, the remaining settings can be edited.

Scaling factor source

With Scaling factor source you can set which change related to the selected source (frame or page) should be used as the basis for the frame scaling. If the option Frame is selected as source, the frame name of a reference frame must be entered in the Name field.

The following options are available

Change of width

If Width is chosen, the width will be taken as reference.

Change of height

If Height is chosen, the height will be taken as reference.

min (Width/Height)

If min (Width/Height) is chosen the lower of the two values will be taken as reference.

max (Width/Height)

If max (Width/Height) is chosen the higher of the two values will be taken as reference.

Depending on the option selected, the selection refers to the dimensions of the frame or page.

Scaling intensity

The scaling intensity is used to define the actual impact of the size adjustments in the adaption panel on the chosen frame.

Frame width (height) limit - Min

This option sets the minimum frame width (height).

Frame width (height) limit - Max

This option sets the maximum frame width (height).

Rotation

You may use this module after activating Support rotated frames in the main menu.
