What Is Wedia

What is Wedia ?

Technically, Wedia is a complete web application that is provided to users directly in a web browser.

Our solution is developed in Java EE technology and is based on an SQL database for data and an ElasticSearch engine for full text search as well as the provision of analytical data.

The Wedia user interface works directly in a web browser, no plugins are required, no Java and no Flash.

See https://crossmedia.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/WD/pages/383254529 to check which browser environnements are supported

The user interface is completely written in HTML and Javascript. We use VueJS as our framework our choice.

Wedia is a modular software suite that successfully supports the digital marketing transformation.

The four modules are

  • Creative Project & Content Management
... which simplifies and coordinates every aspect of the collaborative creative process across teams, partners and publication channels.

  • Digital Asset Management
... which enables companies to globally build up, manage, adapt, share and reuse digital assets from a single platform.

  • Distributed Marketing Management
... which enables companies to easily create, localize and customize marketing material for print and digital channels from a single web interface.

  • Content Scoring Management
... which consolidates real-time content-centric analytics to optimize the content strategy by understanding what resonates with the audience and why.

How does it look like?

Wedia offers two user interfaces by default - the administration views and the backend views. The front end will be programmed individually for each customer.

App / Portal : (VueJS SPA)

Backend (JQuery + JSP)

Administration / Setup

The administration space can be reached by adding “admin” to the URL, e.g. “http://mydomain.com/admin”.

Tip

You can choose your favorite user interface language by clicking on the language abbreviation.

The administration space offers a wide range of options which allow to adapt Wedia in nearly every way.

How to start?

Before starting the configuration you should think about the following issues:

  • Define the data model

    • Which information should be stored in the system?

    • How is this information related?

  • Define the workflows

    • Which steps/status are requested?

    • Should something happen when a status is reached? What if?

  • Define the roles

    • Who is using the systems for which task?

    • What rights are necessary to solve the task?

  • Define the rights

    • What security rules are necessary?
