Wedia Canva Content Picker

The Wedia app extension for Canva is a powerful tool that helps users easily search and insert corporate images into their design. As a Digital Asset Management (DAM) software editor, Wedia offers a seamless integration with Canva, one of the most popular design tools on the market. With this app extension, users can quickly access their organization's DAM, search for relevant images, and insert them into their Canva design with just a few clicks.

Installing the Wedia Canva Content Picker

Canva offers App extension, that can be located in the “Apps” sidebar menu when creating a new design :

Search for “Wedia” to locate the Wedia app.

Once installed, the Wedia app will appear in the sidebar :

Connecting to the Wedia DAM from Canva

Before searching the Wedia DAM, users need to connect via Canva to their DAM server:

Clicking on the “Connect” button will open the connection window:

Fill the fields with your Wedia server and credentials on the Wedia server, and click on the “Submit” button to connect:

The panel will fill with image assets from the DAM.

Licensing the Wedia Content Picker users.

Out of the box, no user has the privilege to use the Wedia Content Picker. To gain access, kindly get in touch with your Wedia account manager and obtain a license for the content picker.

Searching the Wedia DAM from Canva

The only search available is a full text search :

You can add a “*” in your query as a joker:

To view the image caption, click on the 3 dots icon on the top right of the image preview:

Using images in your design

When an image fits your need, you can either click on the image, or drag it into the design to use it.

There is a small time lag where the high definition image is loaded just after being dragged.

No dynamic link is created: the image is copied in the design.
